Foreign Manufacturing Certificate Scheme

The Foreign Manufacturing Certificate Scheme (FMCS), offered by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), allows foreign manufacturers to obtain BIS certification for their products to be sold in India.

  • It ensures foreign-made products meet Indian quality and safety standards.
  • The process includes submitting an application, product assessment, and facility inspection by BIS.
  • Once certified, foreign manufacturers can use the ISI mark, gaining access to the Indian market.
  • It builds consumer trust by ensuring imported products are safe and reliable.
